Mesmerized by the gorgeous waterfront view, we asked a waiting staff (was not aware he was actually our waiter) to take a picture of us by the window. When we first got to our table, the dining area was still empty. With regard to the food, I would give it 4 stars - the 1 star being not able to taste the truffle from the risotto (it should have truffle in it according to the menu) and the oysters being way too bland. On one hand, I appreciated the food and the ambiance on the other hand, I felt deeply insulted by our waiter and his public accusation of my boyfriend, which sadly ruined our anniversary night. I have very mixed feeling about my experience with the Pink Door tonight. Why was I rejected but my husband who walked in 3 minutes later was added? Very shady. Before leaving my husband went into the restaurant to use the restroom and when he came out he said he was easily added by the hostess to the waitlist! What? I don't know what to make of this. Disappointed and clearly not going to the bar across the alley with my 2 minor children, I waited outside the restaurant for my husband who had been parking the car to let him know we needed an alternative plan. It was suggested that I go to the bar across the alley, sit at a table with a view of The Pink Door and have a drink while I waited for the sign to come down so that I could run back to the restaurant and get on the list. When we arrived at 5:15 we were told that they weren't taking any more names for the waitlist and should come back when the sign on the door stating "no more waitlist" was taken down. I was informed during a call the prior day that the waitlist can run between 35 minutes to 2.5 hours. Unable to score a reservation I planned to get my party of five to the restaurant at 5pm to get on the waitlist. Let me be clear, the food, service, entertainment and ambiance is pretty darn awesome but getting on the wait list was a very disappointing experience. The one and only reason why I'm giving a 3 star-review is because of the restaurant's very SHADY waitlist protocol.
